
Craig Spadafora is an experienced businessman with an impressive background in both the public and private sectors. He is currently serving his fourth consecutive term as a Malden City Councilor at Large, and is a candidate for State Senate for the Middlesex and Essex District.
As President of the Malden City Council, Craig has fought tirelessly for more accountability and efficiency in city government. He has always made fiscal responsibility, energy conservation, and public safety his top priorities while serving the people of Malden.
Under his leadership on the Council, Craig has reigned in city spending while identifying cost savings throughout several municipal departments. He has worked passionately to advocate for increased local aid while maintaining not only a strong bond rating for the city, but a structurally balanced budget as well.
As an advocate for the environment, Craig has increased incentives and mandates to promote serious reductions in the city’s carbon footprint. Throughout his tenure on the City Council, he has stood at the forefront of efforts to boost investments in conservation technology, as well as upgrading the city’s motor pool to more fuel-efficient vehicles. He also has a clear vision and understanding of the importance of neighborhood protection through responsible and conservative zoning practices.
Craig, 36, is a life-long resident of Malden where he resides with his wife Debbi and their two small children Mariano and Carmella. He graduated from Northeastern University before moving on to earn his MBA in finance from Suffolk University.
Craig is a member of the Malden Kiwanis Club and the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts. He currently works as a financial analyst with Investors Capital in Lynnfield.
